Comfortable double room with shared bathroom suited my needs well. The location is central, right among the action, convenient for exploring nearby attractions.
Nighttime noise levels were pretty high due to nearby music, making it tough to sleep before midnight. The kitchen setup is lackluster, limited to a kettle and camping gas, making meal prep for longer stays a bit of a hassle.

I loved exploring the local eats around Grettir Guesthouse—Sumac Grill's spicy bites were a true highlight! The cozy room had a sink, and the kitchen was well-stocked for a late-night snack. Plus, the warmth was a lifesaver in chilly Reykjavik!
Noise was a bit of a vibe killer. you could hear doors slamming and bathroom chatter. Parking was tricky and cost a bit, but with all nearby eateries, I hardly missed a beat!

oh, grettir guesthouse, how you almost had me fooled! the shared bathroom situation was dire, only one toilet for too many guests was a big mistake. i expected at least a complimentary upgrade for my trouble, but apparently that’s too much to ask. i just couldn’t give a good review.

Loved the cozy vibe of my Double Room. The bed felt luxurious with its memory foam mattress—definitely helped me sleep well. I appreciated the sink in my room, making it easy to freshen up. The shared kitchen had everything I needed for late-night snacks, so I felt right at home. Really enjoyed the location, just a short walk to the main shopping areas and eateries. The instructions for self-check-in were super helpful, especially after a long journey. A small downside was the noisy bathroom chatter from other rooms and the fact that getting hot water in the sink took forever. This mix of comfort and minor inconveniences made it memorable for me.

This place was a great match for a brief hiatus in Reykjavik with very good value for money. I really appreciated how the management implemented a strict time schedule for the common areas, which helped reduce noise. It's a good idea to pack light since there are quite a few steps to navigate to get there.

The location is ideal for exploring downtown, just steps from shops and eateries. The cozy atmosphere made me feel at home, and the self-service breakfast was decent. However, the noise levels at night from nearby bars could be disruptive, and the check-in process needs improvement.

good stay but needs a little more
The bed in my room was exceptionally comfortable with a memory foam mattress, ensuring a restful sleep. The shared kitchen was cozy and had everything I needed for late-night snacks, making it easy to feel at home. The large bathroom was a highlight, providing ample space and cleanliness. Moreover, my room offered a lovely city view that added charm to my stay.
The noise from neighboring rooms occasionally disrupted the peaceful atmosphere.

Great location and cozy atmosphere
I really loved the location—it was super easy to walk to the main shopping district and everything you could want was just a short stroll away. The room was cozy and warm, with a comfortable bed that really helped after a long day of exploring. I also appreciated having a sink right in the room. Just a heads up, the stairs can be a bit slippery when icy, so be careful!
